Position Title: Early College Coordinator

Position Type: Part-Time (October 1, 2024-July 31, 2025)
Position Overview:
The Early College Coordinator serves as a key liaison between Indiana Parenting Institute Inc. of St.
Joseph County (IPISJC) and South Bend Community School Corporation (SBCSC) students and parents,
fostering strong collaboration to ensure the success of the Early College Program. This role works directly
on the Pathways 2 Success program and coordinates with school administration and other key
stakeholders to plan, execute, and monitor the early college model. The coordinator also supports both
students and parents in navigating the early college landscape, providing essential guidance and
resources.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with school administration to plan, implement, and oversee the Early College model
and monitor its progress.
• Provide advising and support to students, ensuring they meet the necessary requirements for
program completion.
• Engage with parents and students from non-partnering Early College Programs, offering
guidance and support.
• Work with school administration to credential and develop teaching staff for dual-credit courses.
• Support early college programs such as IVY ACADEMY (Ivy Tech associate degree program),
including acting as a liaison between SBCSC’s College and Workforce Readiness Department, Ivy
Tech, and out-of-school supportive services. Coordinate recruitment activities, parent
engagement, communication with school counselors, and enhanced student programming (i.e.,
academic resources, career/college advisement, tutoring, and enrichment).
• Coordinate Summer Bridge programs with IPISJC team leadership, program staff, and
instructional personnel, ensuring availability for 4 weeks after the school year to perform
programs with fidelity.
• Collaborate with SBCSC's Career and Technical Education (CTE) department to research and
connect emerging CTE programs with IPISJC initiatives, especially those offering dual credits or
industry credentials.
• Collect and manage data necessary for grant-related funding, ensuring accurate systems to track
student participation and performance.
Required Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• Experience:
o 3+ years of experience in higher education or K-12 program.
o Experience working with learning management systems.
• Skills:
o Strong communication, interpersonal, planning, decision-making, and leadership skills.
o Sensitivity to the needs of diverse groups and a commitment to advancing cultural
diversity.
